Andre's Doctors Appt.

On January 21, 2008 Andre and I headed back to the Doctor's Office. Not to any surprise Dr. Gregory Hanker did not release Andre to go back to work. Instead he told Andre that he was going to give him a shot to see if it was nerve or muscle damage that was causing all the pain. The easy way to diagnosis this would be to give him a shot of some numbing medicine in his (L) thumb. Now when the NP. walked into the room with a syringe the size of my forearm I almost passed out... Andre looked like he was about to do the same. He just turned white...(Luckily he and I did not pass out) I just laughed and told Andre if he wasn't nice to me I'd have Dr. Hanker numb his balls...hahaha... Come to find out the damage after the Doctor numbed Andre's Thumb. It was the NERVE... Now, there is only two things that could fix Andre's hand and the chance of it working is 80%/20% that it will work. So, Dr. G. Hanker wants to take out Andre's Nerve out of his THUMB. Did I mention to you all that Andre is a ART DIRECTOR... HE IS ALSO LEFT HANDED DOMINATE... I did not want to cry in front of Andre and I did not want to forget all the questions I had for the Doctor either. But, I just went numb inside. My insides where bursting with tears. I WAS SCREAMING INSIDE...This could be his 3rd. hand surgery. It was really not what I was expecting from the Doctor. So, Andre and I are discussing the possibilities of what could happen and where this puts us in the future for both our careers. So, to all of you who read this PLEASE PRAY FOR US....

Work

Well holy cow it is slow at work. I woke up as early as ever and headed out the door with high hopes of money in my pocket and people who are nice to there server. (Like I said HIGH HOPES) I'd been sick for about a week and missed two days of work last week. I only have a really bad cough and have a little trouble sleeping with my stuffy nose. But, bottom line I needed to go back to work. So, I did. We open our doors at work at 9:00 a.m. on the dot. I didn't get my first table til almost 11:00 a.m.. The rest of my tables where great but geeze o' wheeze everyone was crabby(nice but craby)....I'm guessing they're the people who hate the fact there teams lost there chance to go to the SUPERBOWL...Or that OBAMA is in office in two days... EITHER WAY....GO STEELERS!!!! I on the other hand did make great tips. So can't complain to much.

Andre is having doubts about going back to work...He's a little worried due to the downsizing of his company while he's been away. If he goes back to work it will be almost 1 yr. an 1 1/2 months since he worked. I can't believe he's been out that long. I only hope his hand can hold out. His therapist tells him to try to do anything and everything under the sun to get his Left dominate hand back to as close to normal as possible. Yet, I don't think he will ever be able to design as he used to or at the level he was once at. The doctor on his last visit said they where going to try (operative word there is TRY) to get him into a pain management specialist...I just think it's B&#^%#*(* though...State Workers COMP SUCKS!!!! I tell you what though the LORD provides for you when you pray and ask for that little guidance, strength and love of patience... Strange how when I need him the most he just answers every prayer.

I'm doing well just hoping that the economy turns around sooner then later. I know it's not a quick fix. I just don't think anyone can take much more of this crap. On a lighter note...OUR TRUCK IS PAID OFF!!!YAYAY!!! An my STEELERS are leading in the 3rd. YAY!!!!! I'm also planning an awesome Bachlorette Party for my lovly Cousin LEANNE!!!!
